For parents and teachers
Door Zero books are interactive adventures for readers aged 8 to 12, around grades 3 to 7.
How they work
The reader is the hero. Every short section ends with a choice, and each choice sends them to a different numbered section. A book has about 110 sections and more than 20 endings, so one reading takes 20 to 30 minutes and no two readings are the same.
Who they suit
Children who love video games, and children who usually put a book down halfway. Sections are short, the sentences are clear and every choice is a reason to keep going. Readers often go straight back to the start to find the endings they missed.
What's in them
Real tension, plenty of jokes, and nobody ever gets hurt. Wrong turns end with the reader being "Wiped" back to the Hub, unharmed and a bit embarrassed, to try another door. There are no real brands, games or people in the books.
In the classroom
Read a book aloud and vote on each choice as a class. Keep a shared Hunter's Log on the wall and tick off the endings you find together. Our free printables include logs, maps and colouring pages.
About how they're made
We use AI tools in making these books. Our workshop page explains exactly how, and what people do.
